An Awakening Moment

Hadrat Ahmed Ali Lahori (May the mercy of Allah be upon him) once said while instructing class that at one time he met a special lover of Allah in the bazaar. Hadrat Ahmed Ali greeted him and so this man asked a seemingly strange question. He asked, “Ahmed Ali, where do people live? Where are all the people?”

Hadrat Ahmed Ali was slightly surprised and pointing to the scores of people he said, “Hadrat, these are all people you see in front of you.” Hearing this the man cast a strange look at the people in the bazaar and said, “Really? These are all people?” Hadrat Ahmed Ali said that the man’s tawajjoh affected him so deeply that when he looked again he only saw cats and dogs milling around.

Regarding this incident Hadrat Ahmed Ali Lahori used to say that there are very few individuals who surrender in totality to Allah.

Whoever is for Allah then Allah is for him [Hadith]

REASON OF EXISTENCE

It so happens that we enter a room for a purpose but the moment we enter, we forget why we came altogether. Then in this brief period our attention diverts to some other task and we get engross in it. And after considerable time we suddenly remember the real task and we have a chance to complete it. The world is like that room, we entered in it with a purpose but we got distracted. before our time comes, we must do something about it or else, we'll be in " khasara" greatest loss after which there is no going back. So what we need to do is be attentive all the time. Keep your purpose in your mind. I know that this is difficult. Allah said so himself that life of a momin is difficult. there's a hadis, I cant remember the exact words the excerpt is: "The path to heaven is filled with thorns and the way to hell is laden with flowers." I recently had a chance to come to know one of the great writers of Pakistan, Ibne Safi. Ibne Safi He has an ability to engage his reader and take him to places in his mind and than when reader finishes the novel, he has the urge to create exact environment in real. His protagonist obeys, respect the law and makes those around him to do so too. I think about how many minds he revolutionized. How much he changed the society. I am sure he put large amount of effort in salvaging the society and help people to take it to this far. His writings are timeless. They can be used by every individual of any age. He rightly read his times and the way he changed the track of thought of especially young minds is marvellous. His writing proves that he was of the men who don't complaint about circumstances rather stand up and remove the filth silently and efficiently.
