(Prepared with Connie L. Nash from One Heart For Peace ) .." Allah is our Lord and your Lord. Unto us our works and unto you your works; no argument between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and unto Him is the journeying." Al-Quran (chapter 42:ayat-15) ..." Is the reward of goodness aught save goodness?" Al-Quran (chapter 55: ayat-60) ' Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth: "you owe me." Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky .' Hafiz " The well is one, and water bearers many. Their pots may differ in shape and size, but water in all of them One." Kabir " My wish for you is that you fall in love like a burning coal that  falls into water and keeps burning. Intentions Matter As Much As Deeds Does

"A pious man, someone who had spent his entire life praying, once lived above a dissolute wretch who drank wine and listened to music and indulged in the pleasures of the flesh. One night the upstairs man had the urge to examine the revelries downstairs, while at the same time the downstairs man decided to see what his neighbour was doing. They both died at the stairs. The one on his way down was sent to Hell by Allah. The one going up admitted to Paradise." (A passage taken from The Wasted Vigil by Nadeem Aslam. Although I don't agree with the whole plot but really liked this part as an inspiration)

FIRST TEN DAYS OF DHIL-HIJJAH lets be productive

In the name of Allah, All praises be to Allah, All Prayers and Blessings of Allah be upon Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions. Selection is one of Allah's enactments in this universe. Allah (SWT ) selected some prophets, angels, months and days to be better than others. For example, Allah (SWT) selected the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah to be better than any other days. Let us know their virtues and the best righteous deeds we can do during them. Their virtues mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah 1) Allah (SWT) says in the Noble Qur'an what can be translated as: "And (by) the dawn and (by) the ten nights ." (TMQ , Surat al-Fajr 1-2) Their virtues mentioned in ahadith Ibn-Kathir said: "The ten nights are the first ten nights of Dhul-Hijjah as stated by Ibn-Abbas, Ibn-al-Zubair, Mujahid, and many others scholars, both past and present." 2) Ibn-Abbas reported that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH ) said, "No good deeds done on other d...

Against Reciprocation

"Oftentimes I lose the chance of doing a bhalai (goodness) because I am following the crowd. I reciprocate the deeds, their behavior towards me. I forget that there's a difference between me and them. Whatever they do, they will reap it. And I will reap my own deeds." "لَهَ ا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ" "It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do." Al-Baqarah:141 Why is there any need to mirror others actions then? It is said that: "Do not ever lose the chance of doing bhalai even the smallest one" We should avail every chance of it. Like we rush towards those 50% and 70% off neon signs? Exactly!
