Be Careful Of Pharaoh

Image
"Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." Quran (Ash-Shuara [26:16-19]) Sheikh Abdul Nasir Jangda explains the ayah (in bold), that when a person, who had had a bad past, for example; he/she was sinful, disobedient or non-believer at a certain time period in their past, comes to you with something good, or calls you towards Allah; make dawah, then don't scoff him/her away. Or look down upon them or remind them of what they have been because at that time we'll act exactly like Pharaoh did when Hazrat Musa (Moses) aleyhs salam went to him and called to him to Allah, and then later asked him to free Children of Israel and let them go with him. Pharaoh laughed at ...

Dunia-For Action

The death of Shahzeb Khan has really affected me. It makes me think about so many things among which is, uncertainty of death itself. There's a general believe that people die when they are old. And it is true to an extent. The young/children die in special cases like wars, epidemic, or brutal injustice. Shahzeb's death has left me thinking how much time do I have. It's true that nobody knows when one will die but still. When one dies, all doors are closed on that person. The time for action is up. What I shall have would be the product of those action. What are we doing with our life? Where are we spending our precious time which is silently creeping away. What we shall reap in hereafter? These questions haunt me most of the time. And I earnestly pray for Shahzeb that whichever way he spent his life, may Allah have rehmah on him. May Allah shower his blessings on him and give him place in His glorious gardens. And this prayer is for all who are living or dead. May Allah...

Image
by  Brother Ali Ruqaya It was related by Anas bin Malik that the Prophet   (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him)  said:  “Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim.”  [ Sunan Ibn Mâjah ] However, as with all things in our Deen, there are proper ways of going about doing things. We have a certain way of taking wudhu, making salaah, tasbeeh, zikr, fasting and hajj. Here we give you 7 etiquettes for knowledge seekers in sha Allah: 1. Have a sincere intention An example is: I am studying to help the ummah with this beneficial knowledge, to enlighten my intellectual growth...

Darul Amal Wa Darul Jaza

(Guest post by Nimra Khursheed) ‘‘Who is going to come for the summary of what has been delivered uptil now?’’  The teacher demanded for a direct impromptu presentation.  Now? At hand presentation? Amidst a crowd of 60 people?! ‘‘And would like to gain a positive marking?’’  The teacher added eyeing the students.  Silence loomed from every corner of class. Fidgeting in their seats as to whom the teacher would now ask to present ; the students found the offer devouring , but they all had a common excuse: WE ARE NOT PREPARED!                                                                                                                           ...

Unique Characteristic of Islam III

4: Safeguard of Wisdom: Every thing which affects the mind and harms the senses is prohibited strictly. Consumption of alcohol and drugs, involvement in gambling (and any form of illegal exchange of business) are not allowed in Islam.  Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist? [5:91] Vulgarity is discouraged.  O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.  He only orders you to evil and immorality and to say about Allah what you do not know. [2:168-169] Quarrels are discouraged. Hoodlums are not approved of. Terrorising, harassing innocents is prohibited. Basic education is everybody's basic right. Punctuality and  Leniency for prisoners  is highly regarded. intense work load is discouraged.  Suici...

Unique Characteristic Of Islam II

2- Safeguard of Honour: To honour the self Allah made the rule of nikah which is taking a hold over woman by man in witness of Allah.   then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four.(4:3)                              Allah made hudood laws which cannot be changed by anyone.  Allah prohibited jealousy and all of it's other kinds. 3- Safeguard of Property: The best way for Muslims of preserving the property/assets is to pay elms (Zakaat).  Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, (2:3) Other than that, money laundering, bribery, interest, measuring less (than due), are all prohibited. It's against Muslim character to commit any of these acts. Woe to those who give less [than due], (83:1) Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beat...

Who Is The Real Poor Person

"One should implement what he knows for it is the greatest foundation. And the poor person, the truly poor, is the one who wasted his life learning that which he does not practice. So, he loses the pleasures of this worldly life and the goodness of the hereafter, coming forth bankrupt (on the Day of Judgment) with strong evidences against himself." —Sayd al-Khatir (Gems from Imam ibn al-Jawzi) Courtesy :  http://www.suhaibwebb.com/personaldvlpt/worship/dua/gems-from-imam-ibn-al-jawzi/

Respect For Hadis

In our hadis class we were studying following hadis: عن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه عن النبي قال "ان الصدق يهدئ الى البر وان البر يهدى الى الجنة - وان الرجل ليصدق حتى يكتب عندالله صديقا- وان الكذب يهدي الى الفجور- وان الفجور يهدى النار- و انالرجل ليكذب حتى يكتب عندالله كذابا (متفق اليه 'Verily, truth leads to good and verily good leads to jannah. And verily, a man speaks truth until he is written as honest in Allah's book. And verily lie leads to bad. and verily bad leads to fire. And a man lies until he is written a liar, in Allah's book." We were learning it with word to word translation from Arabic to Urdu and you can see its small with a lot of words shared from Urdu। A class-fellow said, 'miss its so easy। We've learnt it already.' and what did our teacher say? She said, "Its easy to learn it but how much easy it is to act upon it?" And really, we are so low that we learn even these things to just pass the exam with flying colors. It is just ...
