Keeping Sins a Secret

I previously posted on keeping good deeds a secret. This time i'm writing about keeping sins a secret and the consequences and the rewards of doing so. From among the teachings of Allah's Messenger (salallahu alaihe wa-sallam) is to keep sins a secret matter. If someone commits a sinful act which is against the Commandments of Allah, or is against the moral character, or is such an act that may cause harm to one's honor, then he should keep it a secret and seek forgiveness from Allah in the darkness of night. The Messenger of Allah (salallahu alaihe wa-sallam) said: "My entire nation is safe, except al-Mujahirin (those who boast of their sins). Among the Mujaharah is that a man commits an (evil) act, and wakes up in the morning while Allah has kept his (sin) a secret, he says: "O Fulan! Last night I did this and that. " He goes to sleep while Allah has kept his (sin) a secret but he wakes up in the morning and uncovers what Allah has kept a secret!" [Sahe

Allah knows!

Often times, when we do something worthwhile, we want the world to know about it.  Whether it’s Acing our final exams in school or scoring the winning shot in a street-basketball game, we feel it’s our duty to let people know about the ‘big things’ we accomplish everyday.  Even if it’s something that isn’t related directly to us, we feel the urge to tell others via Muslim gossip (even the good non-backbiting type).  However, the fact of the matter is that we shouldn’t really worry about what other people think about us.    In fact, we shouldn’t even care if other people know what we’ve accomplished.  We should hide some of our good deeds instead of showing them off.  Because the fact of the matter is, we know Allah (SWT) knows what we accomplished and to Him (SWT) is our final return.  Check out the following enjoyable read: In one  country, the Muslim army was fighting against the Byzantine army. The number of the Byzantines was more than ten times the number of the Muslims.  The Byz

REASON OF EXISTENCE

It so happens that we enter a room for a purpose but the moment we enter, we forget why we came altogether. Then in this brief period our attention diverts to some other task and we get engross in it. And after considerable time we suddenly remember the real task and we have a chance to complete it. The world is like that room, we entered in it with a purpose but we got distracted. before our time comes, we must do something about it or else, we'll be in " khasara" greatest loss after which there is no going back. So what we need to do is be attentive all the time. Keep your purpose in your mind. I know that this is difficult. Allah said so himself that life of a momin is difficult. there's a hadis, I cant remember the exact words the excerpt is: "The path to heaven is filled with thorns and the way to hell is laden with flowers." And that: " The world for a believer is like a prison" So now we are clear about our life and our destiny. both are

Allah , Rehman O Raheem ! Who listens and answers , who forgives when asked forgiveness , who blesses every one .... A Belief , a faith that grows stronger everyday ......

Life itself is a Worship

I was surfing through some ghazals on a facebook group Bazm-e-Urdu Adab   and this one came up to me which is written by 'Jiger Muraad Aabadi'. It goes like; Rind jo mujh ko smajhte hain unhen hosh nahi, Maikadah Saaz hoon main, Maikadah Bardosh nahi, Mehv-e-Tasbeeh tou sabhi hain magar Idraak kahan? Zindagi khud hi Ibaadat hay magar hosh nahi, Main teri mast nigaahi ka bharam rakh loonga, Hosh aaya bhi tou keh doonga mujhay hosh nahi, Uth kay pehlu say gaya hay koi jis dam say jiger, Mujh ko yeh wahem hay jaisay meray aaghosh nahi.. The thing in this poem that caught my attention was; "Mehv-e-Tasbeeh tou sabhi hain magar Idraak kahan? Zindagi khud hi Ibaadat hay magar hosh nahi," The meaning that I extract from it is simply that whatever we should do in our life should be for the sake of ALLAH. Every other action should be to make him happy, but SAD that nowadays we rarely do this while it had to be this way. We are trying to make our dreams true

Islam and Science by Mahathir Bin Mohammad

Image
1. A commentator asked "if the Islamic Empire (there never was an Islamic empire in the sense of the other Empires - only an Islamic community - the Ummah) was so good in science before why are the Orgainisation of Islamic Conference countries lagging behind in science and technology?". 2. I had explained why before but i think I should repeat. 3. The early Muslims accepted the message of Allah in the Qur'an enjoining upon Muslims to read (Iqraq). The verse (the first to be received by the Prophet - an illiterate man) did not specify, much less limit what Muslims should read. 4. There were no books on Islam at that time but there were many books on the Hebrew and the Christian religions. There were also many books or tracts on Greek science and philosophy as well as Indian mathematics. 5. The early Muslims read and eventually translated all the writings of the Greeks, the Indians and others. Obviously they had to learn these languages first. Then they followed up by doing

"When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy." - 7:204 When I was little, Maulvi Sahab used to come to teach us how to recite the Holy Book. It used to be a three-hour class, with five of us cousins, each reading a different siparah i.e. chapter. We were children and thus impatient so were always successful in coaxing Maulvi Sahab to end the class an hour earlier. I don't know about the rest but this habit of mine continued till I reached my teens. Whenever I would think of opening the Holy Book to read, sluggishness would fill me up like termite in wood and Satan would lure me into doing other "fun" things. Until I met her. She was my Quranic Studies teacher in eighth grade. She used to translate and explain the verses of the Quran. One day, we had a recitation class and a volunteer was required for reading a few verses. I sat lower in my seat so my name wouldn't be called out since I did not kno

Flame of the Soul

Image
Ignite the flame, burn the soul, in the name... until it cries out in the pain, the sound echoing throughout the universe, the endurance then, will not be in vain.. I thought of these lines while praying. I know, I should concentrate on words while praying :D but well.. I took it as Allah's gift. ;)

A bowl of truth

This poem was published in "The Intellect" in 2009. It it written by Zawjah Farid REFLECTING ON OUR "PROMISE": THE PRIMORDIAL COVENANT ("AHD-ATLAST") The treading feet, the searching soul An ocean deep, a baseless bowl The lightning thunder, or our thoughts asunder We walk from the truth, ever wonder? The soul that promised right eousness A heart that beats on through its test we fail again and yet again The soul ashamed of our bargain Why humans, are you so thankless? Of all that's yours and nature's bliss Unfair it is and very so! You reap the seed that you shouldn't sow! Deep, deep in the quagmire Weep, weep my sinless soul The sinless soul, the conscious mind Rivals forever, the latter's blind The battle goes on and who will win? The strands of truth or oceans of sin Alas! Man is weak today Has lost his grace and forever may stray If only you rekindle your soul Give a base to the half-filled bowl If only you hol

Something different yet so Beautiful

In today's world, different things can happen and people can ask different things. The result from them might be something enormous and beautiful.  I will write down a small conversation that I read somewhere. A: Don't we see that all natural processes take place on time? Has sun ever said that today I cannot rise because I do not feel like or I am tired of monotony? No, it never has. But, yes once it did not rise on time. Yes, there is one incident in history when sun did not rise on its prescribed timings. Can anybody tell me that? B: The day Hazrat Bilal Habshi Radi Allah u 'Anhu did not give  azaan.  Allah SWT did not make the sun rise until Hazrat Bilal Radi Allhu 'Anhu called for  fajar  prayers.  I was familiar with the incident. But the comment that followed was something that I was not familiar with. Something that I knew, but I knew not. 'A' said:  "Taqwa kaainaat ko musakhhar karne ki quwwat rakhat hai" Beautiful :) Credit:  ht

Life and three questions.

Gimmie a purpose, and I'll give you a reason Gimmie life and you'll get death The world goes round and we stay put What's our purpose? To live? To die? To mock? To save? To kill? None know of thier purpose Not even you and I    Allah has granted us this life and definitely there is a purpose to it. But have we ever took out some time from our busy  lives to think of this purpose? I guess not.The three most important questions we should ask ourselves are "Who am I?" "What am I here for?" "Where am I heading to?" and we will easily find out whether we are living our life the way it is desired or not.    A man of the modern day world will answer these questions quiet differently then someone whose identity hasn't yet been stolen by this luxurious world. Man of the modern world   "Who am I?" = A person of today will answer this question by telling his name, his social status, his profession, his identity. He would

Let's opt for quality

I came across this video today and thought of sharing it with you guys. I found it very informative and it caused a huge variation in my spirits. After watching this video, I was thinking that---the notion"bacchey do he achhey" is not good. :D And apart from it, I was thinking that if we Muslims are going to be in majority in the next 3 or 4 decades to come then why don't we become a proper Muslim? The one desired by Allah. Why don't we fulfill his commands and live our life according to Hazrat Mohammad P.B.U.H.'s vision of a Muslim. Our present condition is truly and absolutely pathetic. We are being oppressed, disgraced and governed by despots. All around the world, we Muslims are a victim of foreign invasion. We are being excriminated and deprived from our rights. Our religion which is no doubt a religion of peace is considered extremism and those who follow it strictly as one should, are called terrorists and all this is our fault. We left the

The Base Fault

Who is at fault? Is it those politicians we are always cursing? No, it is us. We ourselves are responsible for this chaotic environment. The corruption is in us, only the level is different depending on our status. If we, the people of Pakistan don't take our nation and its problems seriously then why would anyone else? We call it our homeland, our motherland but do we consider it to be so? These are mere words. It is high time we start taking things seriously and work together to bring a change. We are the power of this nation. All we need is some sincerity and unity and we can build it to be a strongest nation!

A new begining.
