Aazadi book lays down the journey of freedom from slavery and foreign rule. This book breaks so many idols and brings out shocking facts, yes facts which were literally erased from our books, minds, hearts. It rightly claims that if only we accept what is presented in this book we will have our legacy again., and it is not a mere wish of the author but what our hailed ancestors struggled and lived for.

Where do we come from? Why did we come out of India? How did it happen and many more likely questions are answered in this book.

It is usually wrongly believed that there was mutual hate among Muslims, Hindus and Britishers and thats how Pakistan came into being.

Hindus and Muslims lived peacefully in Muslim Empire. Muslim Emperors went out of their ways to keep the peace for Hindus and not make them feel they were ruled by foreigners. Our ancestor, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan inferred that the hate was carefully sown in the hearts of educated Hindus by Britishers. The curriculum in schools was designed in a way that it instilled hate, resentment in young Hindu mind. The translated history books were biased intentionally or unintentionally to reduce the stature of Muslims in the hearts of Hindus. So When they, (the Hindus) came into power, wanted to test what they had learned all their lives. There was nobody, not even Muslims (educated enough- ironically) to remind them of the love and unity they enjoyed for so many centuries. What Hindu remembered was the (false) cruelty of Aurangzeb.

Iqbal in his 1909 lecture in Lahore said,
"Nor is this superficial system [of education] true to the genius of the Hindus. Among them it appears to have produced a number of political idealists, whose false reading of history drives them to the upsetting of all conditions of political order and social peace." (If you want to delve deep)

So actually this was the background and this is where it all took a new turn for not only Muslims but also Hindus. So now that our ancestors knew where the problem lies what did they do? How did they respond?

We'll explore it in next episode of this new series on Aazadi book. I'll go chapter wise. And if you wish to read it on your own then please please order it at khurramsdesk@gmail.com directly. The book is not kept on bookstores. You can buy it directly from the author in just 500/-
